Accessible tourism has finally come to Venice thanks to a private-public project. Until now the gondolas were not accessible to people using wheelchairs. That changed on March 11th when Gondolas4All unveiled it's first wheelchair access point that was made possible through both private and public funding. There is also a special jetty that uses an automatic lift to make getting into the gondola easier. Gondoliers will be trained in operating the lift, and visitors can book a ride for the average ticket price on the website .
